i am talking to caitlin and i haven't seen her ass in weeeeex so we
decided that we need to do that. i'm going to call some peeps tonight

| so, i just
posted this on myspace in a bulletin. i'm pretty serious about it, and
i can't think of anywhere else good to post it. whatevz, here it is.
hey, everyone.
i'm not sure if posting a myspace bulletin is the best way to go about this, but i'm willing to give it a shot.
i've decided that i can only sit around and be musically stagnant for
so long. i'm posting to announce that i'm looking for likeminded
musicians to start a musical group. i want to make music for myself and
whomever else to be proud of and excited about (thanks for putting that
so eloquently, mario). something a little bit different.
i have a pretty good idea what i'd like to sound like, but i have a
pretty hard time at putting my idea into words. i guess it could be
described as a mixture of animal collective's leaf house/the more
accesible xiu xiu/joanna newsom/efterklang/mum other things of that
nature. a bit "experimental," for lack of a better term, a bit
acoustic/folky, and a bit avant-garde. i hate using words like
avant-garde. i want intense, beautiful sounds, interesting but few and
far between vocals, LOTS of various percussion instruments, and really
thick melodies that make people want to do cartwheels. a real cerebral
feel.
if you are curious, i sing, play guitar, bass, trumpet, and keyboards.
i'm not 100% on guitar and bass, but i have played in bands with both
instruments before and i believe i can hold my own. on top of that, i
am an incredibly fast learner (musically, at least). that isn't meant
to sound like i'm tooting my own horn...just letting ya'll know.
i am taking next semester off, so i will have an abundance of time to
make something happen. i can't sit around and watch all of my friends
play music and be surrounded by music and not be involved any longer.
